Lorna Stamm is the mother of Auston Stamm, who was one of our guests. Lorna has years of experience as Auston's advocate in the Southern California school system. Lorna has also informally helped other parents who have children with a disability navigate the school system, which is highly bureaucratic and does not always have the needs of the students in mind.

In this episode, Lorna shares her experiences as Auston's advocate with the hope that her experiences can help other parents better understand what their options are, what resources to look for, and how to better advocate for their children. Even though it's a tried and true lesson, we are reminded of how much time, love, and commitment it takes to raise a child (any child) to fulfill their potential and be responsible adults.
